My Favorite Places

New York City- The first time I went to NYC was for me and my friend's thirteenth birthday. I have been back numerous times because of the memories I made when I was thirteen. My favorite time to go to NYC is during the holidays when all the decorations are out.

Kangaroo Island- Kangaroo Island is the third largest island located in South Australia. When I went to visit, I stayed at the Southern Ocean Lodge Resort. It was a beautiful resort that was reclusive and very educational about different environments, communities, and animals.

  1. Wow, Lindsey, it was intense looking at this beautiful picture of Kangaroo Island and imagining what it might look like now. I think it is one of the areas really hit by the terrible wildfires. I am guessing there will be a lot of climate-change stories that people will take in class this semester, and that's a good thing... Amitav Ghosh, one of my very favorite writers from India, just wrote a novel about climate change and Indian mythology; it's an amazing book: Gun Island by Amitav Ghosh

Introduction to a future PA

Hi everyone, my name is Lindsey. I am a junior here at the University of Oklahoma. I am originally from the Dallas, TX area much like a big portion of the students here at OU. My major is Health and Exercise Science, pre-PA. I have always been interested in sports and sport related injuries so I plan to become a PA for an orthopedic surgeon. The coolest thing about being a Health and Exercise Science major, or any major that is on a medical track, is that you have to take anatomy here at the university. The really unique thing about OU's anatomy course is that it is with cadaver. While that may freak most people out, the opportunities OU students have with having a cadaver experience really help for later admission into medical and graduate programs. Out of all my classes I have taken so far, that class would have to be the most challenging but also the coolest experience. As I said earlier, I am a big sports girl and root for all the Dallas teams, the Dallas Stars and...

Week 11 Story: The Case of the Missing Slipper

Once upon a time, lived a princess and her prince, on their vast piece of land. With them in their palace, lived hundreds of guards, servants, and courtiers to cater to their every needs. Next to their palace was a preparatory school. Many students would come to the palace to tour and hopefully prepare them for a life like the princess and the princes'. The princess and prince loved having an open landscape so they could get to know the students. On one sunny day, the prince and princess went for a lovely stroll along the pond that resided near the palace. As they were used to students often being around the palace, the princess told her courtiers to make sure her valuables were kept safe. The princess had her favorite pair of slippers that were her most important possession. They were a pair of beautiful pearl white slippers with a single pearl at the tip of the shoe.
